Courses to Experience Christ and Community

Systematic Training in Evangelization
The Evangelization Ministry of St. Oscar Romero Parish is offering a formation program in the spirituality of Christian discipleship and evangelization. The program is based on courses offered by the International School of Evangelization, which is part of the international Catholic community, The Koinonia of John the Baptist.

**** Participation for both days of each Course is not required. We encourage you to attend whenever your schedule allows! 

St. Oscar Romero Parish will offer the following three courses: 
Philip Course: Encounter Christ
The Philip Course was conceived in 1990 by Fr. Ricardo Arganaraz, founder of the Koinonia John the Baptist. The course was designed to renew one’s personal relationship with Jesus and become His committed disciple. The course aims at renewing, reviving, and rededicating one’s life of faith irrespective of one’s standing in the Church. It is a course for all who want to develop a deeper, richer Christian faith.

Testimony Course: Witness Christ - March 16 and 17 at St. Patrick Center
The Testimony Course trains believers in the practical skill of giving witness of their personal encounter with Jesus. This course is for anyone who has had an encounter with the Lord Jesus and felt the transformation of His saving presence. All who know this experience inevitably feel an inner call to speak and to communicate it to others. This Course can become a valuable resource for the work of New Evangelization; the best way to open hearts to Christ’s healing grace is through personal testimonies by those who have already received this gift. This course trains believers in how to become joyful witnesses of the resurrection of Jesus.

**** The St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon on Sunday at 12:15 p.m. at then end of the Course is open to all and not exclusive to only those participating in the Testimony Course.  You are welcome to invite family and friends to join us for this luncheon.

Personal Prayer Course: Talk with Christ
The Personal Prayer course invites believers to enter more deeply into their personal relationship with Jesus. God loves you and is calling you to experience more deeply His presence in every area of your life. Christ is alive today, and He desires to share the Holy Spirit with you in a dialogue of love and trust. This is the path of Personal prayer. This course teaches you how to open yourself every day to God and the adventure of prayerful faith. Once one is established in prayerful daily communication with God, He will show you that He is making possible for your life what you once thought was impossible.

All three of these Courses are perfectly suited to the renewal of St. Oscar Romero Parish. These courses train the lay faithful to become evangelizers in every parish, diocese, and region. They offer a systematic training for all ministers in all ministries so that the Love of God can be known by each and every Catholic in the parish.
